Insight news from QVoice Club

Maroc Telecom

Maroc Telecom has signed a substantial contract to invest in a suite of QVoice quality testing systems. They will be used by the operator to optimise performance and maintain mobile network quality. The order with Ascom was placed only after an intensive evaluation of all competitive systems on the market. In Marocco already the regulatory body ANRT and the second operator Meditelecom are using QVoice. The QVoice position of total dominance in Marocco will serve as a key reference, signalling to other national operators how more and more African operators are using QVoice to assess and deliver network quality.

Orange Centertel in Poland

One of Poland's leading mobile operators has chosen QVoice to facilitate the testing and optimisation of its multiple voice and data networks. The investment covers equipment for national drive testing for both speech and data services.

QVoice Rel. 4.2 Released

A select bunch of customers is already enjoying the opportunity of working with the latest QVoice release, QVoice Rel. 4.2. The release, completed in April, is a major event, as it offers users full functionality for WCDMA (UMTS).

Customers come back for more

QVoice customers across Europe and beyond have shown that they continue to consider QVoice their best bet for sustained competitive advantage in today's changing marketplace, by announcing QVoice system renewals. In recent months, a range of major network operators and service providers have announced order extensions to help them meet the ongoing challenge of ensuring superior network quality across a range of platforms and technologies (voice, CSD, GPRS, SMS, 3G, WAP testing).

They include:

  • O2, UK and Ireland
  • Motorola, UK
  • Mobifon, Bulgaria
  • Siemens, Germany
  • KB Impuls, Russia
  • Vodafone, Albania
  • Vodafone, Egypt
  • Vodafone D2, Germany
  • TDC, Denmark

QVoice Enters Pakistani Market

April 2004 saw QVoice enter a new national market, Pakistan, following conclusion of a major new contract with Pakistani mobile operator Mobilink. The successful completion of the order means that Ascom's strategic decision last year to enter the Indian and Pakistani markets is already bearing its first fruits.

Orange UK

The future of Orange UK looks even brighter following its choice of Ascom QVoice for testing and quality management of its mobile voice and data networks. Orange UK - the number one UK mobile operator in terms of active customer numbers - says QVoice offers a common platform for voice, CSD, GPRS, SMS, 3G and WAP testing, as well as facilitating the management and support of tests for all these features.

Orange Israel

Orange Israel is also discovering the benefits of a future based on quality assurance the QVoice way. The Israeli mobile operator - which is now owned by Partner Communications, but continues to use the Orange brand - uses QVoice to test and monitor both its own GSM/GPRS networks and for benchmarking against rival CDMA and TDMA networks.

Wind, Italy

One of Italy's leading mobile operators, WindTelecomunicazioni, has injected a breath of fresh air into its operations with the decision to purchase QVoice. Wind, which is majority-owned by Italian power company Enel, started commercial operation in 1999 and quickly achieved the status of the fastest start-up in the entire European telecommunications sector. It is now one of Italy's four main operators.

Eurotel, Slovakia

Eurotel Bratislava has chosen QVoice to facilitate the testing and optimisation of its multiple voice and data networks. Eurotel, the first mobile operator in Slovakia, is the only service provider in Slovakia that simultaneously operates digital GSM, analogue NMT and public data networks.
