Ascom and Comarco Establish Strategic Alliance to Develop and Market Mobile Quality of Service Test Systems

Switzerland – November 2006 – Ascom Mobile Test Solutions (MTS), the market-leading designer and manufacturer of mobile network testing and optimization solutions has formed a cooperative alliance with, Comarco, a principal international supplier of wireless test systems for field applications. The two companies will combine development expertise and marketing forces forming the World's Number one team in "drive-walk benchmarking / optimisation" for 3G and 4G networks.

"This alliance readies the two companies to capitalize on the next wave of deployment of more advanced, high-capacity mobile broadband networks. The two companies' combined product lines support every major air interface worldwide. Serving a total installed base of approximately 1500 systems in more than 100 countries, these systems are used to help operators improve network performance and the quality of services as perceived by the subscriber.

With the considerable synergies that exist within the two companies' technology and intellectual property portfolios, Comarco and Ascom will co-develop advanced test and measurement systems and analysis solutions for the emerging standards, accelerating the availability of upgrades to existing systems while enabling the rapid deployment of new products. The companies will also share sales and support resources on a global basis.
