A 3-tier platform is the foundation of QVoice data acquisition equipment - an elegant solution with inherent simplicity

Built on a 3-Tier Platform

The data measurement part of QVoice is based on a flexible 3-tier platform which assures users of getting the right test tool for the testing task at hand and having the flexibility to easily reconfigure when confronted with another measurement job. The platform elements are

  • QVoice Symphony
  • QVoice Companion
  • QVoice Smart

Each has been engineered to measure all generations of mobile cellular networks from 2G and 2.5G to 3G and 4G.

 

Measurement Principle

Test connections are established between two end points that can be Speech call, multi-media/video applications or mobile IP-data such as SMS, MMS, Email and PING. QVoice Symphony elegantly enhances the efficacy of data collection and efficiency and network performance analysis.

Measurements fall into two groups:

  • Subscriber View
    QoS measurements represent network performance as perceived by the subscriber and include tests such as real speech, video quality, with drop call and failed call rates, SMS/MMS, Email success rates and delivery times as well as FTP / UDP / HTTP throughputs.
  • Engineering View
    Delivers detailed air interface information like RxLev, RxQual, interference, serving / neighbour cells and layer 3 messages. These parameters are invaluable in trouble shooting and optimizing network behaviour.
